Join local artist Jenny Pope for this walk around many of the gardens and growing spaces taking part in Flowering Porty. The walk will be mainly focussed on the gardens located around the western side of Portobello, with the walk starting from the Art Walk Hub, located at Annan’s (268 Portobello High Street).
Flowering Porty is a new front gardens festival in celebration of the Art Walk’s tenth year. Local people have been invited to create flourishing, colourful, pollinator-rich gardens for the period 30th August-14th September.
Thirty-five Locations are involved in Flowering Porty from private front gardens, to window boxes and community growing spaces across Portobello and Joppa. Gardeners have been invited to create growing schemes inspired by ideas of seaside retro, in keeping with our 2025 ‘ShowGround’ theme of Porty’s entertainment era.
All those participating are included on our Art Walk Porty Festival Map and will be visible from the street.
Flowering Porty will be voted on by the public, with three prizes for the Best Seaside Retro Garden, with results announced on the last day of the festival. Voting is open 30 August to 14 September (closing at 5pm). To view the locations or to vote please visit our Flowering Porty page.
