Susie Reade / Peter Galinsky

Art House 17
Address: 10 John Street
Open: 2/3 and 9/10 September

These mixed media pieces are made by two artists working together on the same canvases. The work is abstract, the process concerns their search for the image as it develops.

This is a conversation between three creative entities: two artists and a painting. There are no preconceived rules or agreements. The colourful pictorial dialogue takes place during interactive processes which resemble musical improvisation and the writing of poetry. While painting we debunk, reflect, magnify, distort and confront. Through this conversation the painting develops its own unpredictable voice and ends up as the most authoritative figure in the studio rendering the artists superfluous.
