Mary Drummond

Art House 29
Address: 17 Bellfield Street
Open: 6/7 September, 10am-6pm

Mary is inspired by nature and the sea – of the real and abstract captured in fused glass.

She loves working with glass and predominantly glass fusion work. This involves cutting, painting, and layering the glass, before it’s fused together in the kiln. In her practice she is also experimenting with painting on glass and incorporating metal work into her pieces. Each piece she makes is unique and as such, makes for the perfect present.

She has attended short courses in glass fusion and working with hot glass blowing as well as experimenting with pate-de-verre, a technique where powdered glass is mixed with a binding agent then fused together at high temperatures.

Mary enjoys designing and creating individual pieces using experimental methods and techniques. She has taken part in local exhibitions including in her Arthouse as part of Art Walk Porty.
