A variety of work in various media: oils, acrylic, watercolour, inks, crayon and collage, homing in on the beauty of the mundane with a bit of a twist.
Julia’s media are oils and acrylic as well as occasional use of watercolour, cold wax, crayons and inks. Her choice of media depends on the subject and what she feels is the appropriate means to convey her observations. She explores colour, shape and pattern and is making a roadway into relationships of shapes to one another and awareness of the negative spaces between those shapes. Her work is definitely not true to life but her own personal expression of that life.
Her work has been in the Arusha Gallery, Velvet Easel, Flat Cat Gallery, Lauder, Whitehouse Gallery, Kirkcudbright, and of course Art Walk Porty.
