Jenny Martin

Art House 38
Address: 7 Esplanade Terrace
Open: 7/8 and 14/15 September

Jenny Martin will be showing a selection of paintings and prints inspired by her recent travels to Spain, and the decorative objects she has collected. A riot of colour and pattern awaits!

Jenny Martin RSW is painter and printmaker who lives and works in Edinburgh. Inspired by subjects from her travels in Spain, Greece and India, as well as her collection of decorative objects and textiles, she aims to make work which creates visual poetry. Central to this is her love of colour and pattern. Working both from architectural subjects, as well as still life, she aims to observe the imprint of human activity on our lives. Decorative objects, textiles, frescoes, ornate tiles and facades of buildings all feed into her work. She studied Fine Art at Edinburgh University and exhibits her paintings and printmaking in galleries throughout the UK. She is an elected member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour and teaches at Leith School of Art in Edinburgh.
