This is a creative experimental journey to immerse in internal sensations based on embodied perception. During the walk you will be invited to focus on the position of the body, sense of balance, tactile perception, smells, light, and soundscape. We will play with associations, somatic and dance improvisation practices that help us to open up a new way of perception of the sea, the beach, art and nature.
The sensory walk will shift the perspective from observing and focusing on visual perception to making one’s own discoveries through a creative dialogue with the space and art works in the festival, including visiting one of Portobello’s community gardens, to find a new way to feel connected with the plants through the body and movement.
This event is open for everyone and suitable for participants with any level of movement experience. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes that would allow you to move freely. The duration of the sensory art walk is 1 hour 30 minutes.
