Travelling Gallery’s Season 3 exhibition launches at the festival with In Another Realm, a group exhibition developed with Sculpture Placement Group (SPG) including the work of Laura Aldridge, Nick Evans, Louise Gibson, Aimee Lax, Aniara Omann & Daisy Robertson.
In Another Realm takes inspiration from science fictions engagement with the environment and it’s value as a genre for thinking about environmental futures, seeing the planet as something that preceded our species and could conceivably continue without us. The selection of works suggest an imaginary world and landscape, with its own unique history, geography, and possibilities. A world where traces of human existence can be found in the works on display, but where life also looks to be conceivably continuing without us.
Throughout 2025 Travelling Gallery has been touring exhibitions themed around The Environment & Climate Emergency. Working with Sculpture Placement Group (an organisation developing creative initiatives and tools for artists and the wider arts sector to think about and address the urgent challenges posed by the Climate Emergency) the exhibition highlights their Loan Scheme one of SPG’s key initiative that provides an opportunity to artists to extend the life-cycle of artworks often in long-term storage.
