Join members of Herbal Scotland for a herbal medicine walk around Portobello and Seafield, together with the tasting and making of herbal preparations. Included will be an introduction to herbal medicine with a focus on local, seasonal and sustainable herbs. A number of different herbal remedies will be explored with information on how to prepare them. Various samples of herbal remedies will be available for participants to try. The herb walk will look at local plants such as thrift (after which our Thrift project is named) as well as others common in the area (burdock, nettle, yarrow, mallow for eg).
Herbal Scotland connects people with plants for health and wellbeing with a focus on educating and empowering people to help themselves and their communities in the treatment of minor ailments by identifying and using local plants.
