Dylan produces collectable numbered editions on paper, original framed works on aluminium composite panel, and re-worked vintage one-off s covering a wide range of subject matter and themes.
Dylan loves the graphic qualities of screen-printing especially when used in conjunction with the colour and immediacy of spray-paint. The small batch, hand-made pieces he produces have gained a pop vibrancy, both in colour and imagery. Current works predominately use a variety of over-printing techniques with stencil blocked spray-paint as a base. Spray paint is his number one medium, offering endless possibilities for creative layering, especially in conjunction with silkscreens. He’s also been experimenting a lot this year with a wide range of new printmaking techniques, using images of well-known locations (often including the Portobello coastline), architecture, nature, pop-culture, typography, street art, and vintage magazines/comics to make graphically hand cut pieces, for collectors, and people looking for a dash of colour, or gallery wall. His art has become instantly recognised by the colour key in the margin, which show the individual colours used and number of layers. They’re always handmade, and always original!
Dylan has exhibited at Edinburgh Printmakers Studio and Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop as well as regularly undertaking Street Art commissions.
He is stocked in over 35 galleries throughout the UK and Europe and has taken part in the Artwalk since 2017.
He undertakes regular commissions for private collectors and next year will be studying on the Leith School of Art Printmaking Course.
