Glass panels; painted, fused and stained, including materials gathered from shores and fields. Exploring our love of nature and our power and desire to shape it.
Over the last 15 years Denise has worked with glass starting initially at night schools and gradually trying new methods of working over the years. She often incorporates fused and painted pieces into stained glass panels and enjoys the fragility and rigidity of glass, requiring extreme processes and equipment to change its shape. The different shadows thrown from glass panels continue to delight her as they change with the course of the day’s light giving something ever changing.
She started exhibiting in the Abbeyhill Colony of Artists and has enjoyed hosting open house exhibitions over the last 14 years in Abbeyhill and more recently in Portobello.
She has worked on a number of private commissions over the last few years following the Porty Art Walk in 2022.
