Daniel Killeen

Art House 19
Address: 21 Bedford Terrace
Open: 2/3 and 9/10 September

Jewellery inspired by the brilliance of the Scottish landscape. In this year’s collection Daniel has found inspiration in the details of texture and shapes of pebbles and rock formation.

Daniel is inspired by Scotland’s rich environment of coastline, highlands and islands. He works from his studio in Edinburgh and in remote locations to produce artworks and jewellery inspired by the landscape and history of the land. He takes inspiration directly from the landscape. He works outside for much of the time often taking textures by hammering metals directly onto the surface of rocks or by pressing wax on to the textures and casting the waxes to make jewellery and objects. As part of his creative process, he draws and paints outdoors, which helps him to feel more in touch with the environment. In the studio he works experientially creating jewellery and small-scale sculptural objects which reflect his experience in nature.
