Claire Graham

Art House 13
Address: 60A Argyle Crescent
Open: 2/3 September

Working primarily as a printmaker in relief and screen printing, Claire is inspired by the urban environment, modern and brutalist architecture, typography and advertising. Her work reflects her love of shop signage, letterpress and packaging.

Architecture and typography in the urban environment are the inspiration for her recent series of prints, using the processes of screen print and lino print to create the images. The work explores form and texture, alongside repetition and layering elements of the print. The finished prints will often incorporate some relief collage to extend the texture and depth of the work. Transparent layers are incorporated into some of the prints to create visual intrigue and reflect the experience of distortion created by dyslexia.

About Claire studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee and has recently completed the One Year Printmaking course at Leith School of Art.

Her recent projects and exhibitions include the 100 Days Project Scotland 2021, courses at Edinburgh Printmakers and exhibitions at Leith School of Art, with the Printmaking Course and Mixed Media Classes.
