Cat explores the natural world’s essence through intaglio, monoprint, screen printing, and relief techniques. Her art blends colour, metallics, and font, exploring a mix of ethereal and light-hearted themes.

Cat’s influences are in the natural world. In her recent work she employs a variety of printmaking techniques, including intaglio, monoprint, screen printing, and relief print to capture its essence. Using colour, metallics, and typography, her work reflects a blend of ethereal and light-hearted themes. Inspired by nature’s healing powers, she creates pieces that aim to evoke a sense of joy. Drawing from her experience in painting, she continues to explore the theme of animals in her work, and expanding on this theme of nature to incorporate feathers and plants adding new areas of interest. Catherine’s work provides a window into a world where reality meets imagination. Through her creative work, she seeks to bridge the gap between the tangible and the intangible, exploring the mysteries of the cosmos and the tranquillity found in nature, reminding us of the beauty and magic that surrounds us.

Cat is currently attending Leith School of Art where she is enrolled on a year-long printmaking course. It has been fantastic getting to grips with a variety of new techniques, and having dedicated creative time to explore new directions in art. Having focused mainly on painting for several years, printmaking is a new discipline for Cat, and one that she will continue in the future. She spends a lot of time working digitally in design, and she has an interest in interiors. Cat attended a Fine Craft Design degree course in Belfast (University of Ulster) in her early art career, specialising in Jewellery and Silversmithing. Over the years she has developed skills and experience in textiles, ceramics and stone carving.
