Walks & Events on this route

Sun 7 September, 11am-1pm
Join local resident Kim Kean with a walk around the Art Houses along Walk 4. You’ll have a chance to visit inside each studio and meet with the artists.

The walk starts from Venue 38 at
Dook, 22 Joppa Road

Both Weekends, 2pm each day
Anna Liebmann (Venue 44) will demonstrate a garlic basket and there will be a join in basketry session helping to create a large willow basket together.
Free, no need to book.
Also at Venue 44 on Sun 14th Sept, 3.30pm: Portobello Community Choir invite you to join them in learning and singing Weave the Willow, a basket making work song written by Jane Lewis that weaves in many basketry terms. 

Sat 6 September, 11am
Michelle Lowe (Venue 46) will demonstrate her pottery techniques including throwing pieces on the wheel and decorating her work using slips and sgraffito (drawing illustrations into clay and a sharp needle tool).

Sun 7 September, 11am
Kasia Matyjaszek (Venue 46) will lead a playful workshop where you will be invited to create characters, settings and stories of your own mini picture book.
Free, no need to book

Sun 7 September, 2pm
Becka Gauld (Venue 46) leads a mini beast junk modelling workshop, involving a craft session creating snails, spiders and other beasties to take home as your own art piece. Suitable for all ages.

Look out for the flower signs on the artists’ pages for those taking part in Flowering Porty, our first ever Front Gardens Festival.
