An exhibition of ceramics, by members of the Bridge Pottery Collective to include Alison Robinson’s fish, Aurora Pinas Fernandez’s sea urchins, Beth Cross’ pots & poetry & Wendy Griffin’s Selkies.

Alison Robinson: set up Bridge Pottery Collective in a basement in Bridge street, Portobello – soon needing a larger studio, the group set up at St Margaret’s House, Meadowbank. The Collective Members are all part time potters each working as individual artists.

Aurora Pinas Fernandez uses clay as her medium of expression. Her clay work moves between utilitarian and decorative, using different techniques such as throwing, slap building, raku firing and in-glaze lustre.

Beth Cross
They come from the kiln
Milk and honey
And like the sky clearing now
Spring and storm and evening
Shifting against each other.
The blue rim
Brightening against copper
And the flow of white
Between them like silk.
Still warm from the firing
they come to my hands
and make of the moment
transformation held.
